Cefzone is a broad-spectrum cephalosporin antibiotic, Ceftrixone that has bactericidal activity resulting from the inhibition of bacterial cell wall synthesis ultimately leading to death. It is indicated for treatment of urinary tract infections (e.g. gonococcal infections), intra-abdominal infections, septicemia, pelvic inflammatory disease, meningitis, pyelonephritis, surgical prophylaxis.
